Introduction to Girls Lacrosse

The Girls Elementary School division welcomes young female athletes to the exciting world of lacrosse. This division emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and building confidence in a supportive, fun environment.

  • Basic Skills: Focus on cradling, throwing, catching, scooping ground balls, and shooting techniques
  • Modified Game Play: Smaller fields with modified rules to emphasize learning and participation
  • No Checking: Girls lacrosse at this level prohibits body checking and stick checking to ensure safety
  • Teamwork Focus: Emphasis on passing, communication, and working together as a team
  • Position Introduction: Players learn about different positions including attack, midfield, defense, and goalie
  • Positive Environment: Encouragement and skill-building take priority over winning

Developmental Goals

By the end of the elementary season, girls should feel comfortable with their stick, understand basic field positioning, and develop a love for the game. The goal is to build a strong foundation while fostering friendships and confidence.
